Writing a book? Publish it here — and get paid to write.
Aluna is a writing site for indie authors and story writers: novels, short stories, web novels and serial fiction, comics and manga. Publishing is free; when readers pay, you keep 85%.
Write a story online, chapter by chapter
Whether you're writing a novel, a book of short stories or a long-running web serial, you can write a story online and post it as you go — or upload the whole book when it's finished. Your studio counts chapters and words as you write, keeps drafts, and can schedule chapters to go live on a date you pick. Comics and manga are posted page by page.
Every reader who follows your book is told when a new chapter is out, and the forums, rankings and your author page help new readers find you.
Get paid to write — you keep 85%
- Subscriptions: keep the early chapters free and let subscribers read ahead — or make the whole book subscribers-only.
- Copies: sell a finished book once, and readers keep it forever, with a download.
- Digital goods: maps, art, bonus stories — anything you can share as a file.
- A fan club (Pro): voice notes, a members' chat and a feed for your biggest readers.
You choose the price — $10, $20, $25, $30, $35 or $40. Stripe pays 85% of every sale straight into your own account, in 41 countries. Selling is on the Seller plan ($25 a month) or Pro ($30); writing and publishing for free needs no plan at all.
Self-publishing without giving up your rights
Your writing stays yours. You give Aluna only the non-exclusive permission it needs to show and sell your work on the site, so you can publish the same book anywhere else too — as an e-book, in print, or with a publisher later. You decide when a book is free, freemium or for subscribers, and you can change it any time.
Questions writers ask
Is it free to publish?
Yes. Writing, posting chapters and having readers follow you is free. A paid plan is only for selling.
What can I publish?
Novels, short stories, web novels and serial fiction in any genre — horror, thriller, mystery, romance, fantasy, science fiction, LitRPG, literary fiction — and comics and manga. Mature themes are allowed when marked "Adult (18+)"; nothing sexually explicit.
How do I get paid?
Connect Stripe in your studio's Settings. Each sale is split at checkout: 85% goes to your Stripe account, and Stripe pays it to your bank.
Can I post a book I've already published elsewhere?
Yes, as long as you hold the rights to it. Aluna's license is non-exclusive.
