Terms of service and content policy

Last updated 10 September 2026. By creating an account, uploading anything, or buying anything on Aluna, you agree to everything on this page. If you do not agree, do not use Aluna.

1. What Aluna is

Aluna is a platform and marketplace that HOSTS works — serial fiction, prose, and manga — created and uploaded by its users. Except for the shop's own listed stock, Aluna does not write, commission, endorse, or vet in advance the works that appear here. Authors are independent; their works are their own.

2. Your account

You must be of legal age in your country to open an account, and at least 18 years old to create, upload, or read adult (NSFW) material. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your credentials safe. You must give accurate information and must not impersonate anyone.

3. Your content is yours — and it is your responsibility

Everything you upload — text, images, cover art, titles, descriptions, manga pages — is USER-GENERATED CONTENT. You keep the rights you already hold in it. You grant Aluna a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, reproduce, distribute, and (where you list it for sale) sell that content for the purpose of operating the service and paying you.

You represent and warrant that you own or have every right and permission needed to upload and sell what you upload, that it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights, and that it is lawful. What you post is your responsibility, not Aluna's.

4. What is never allowed

The following is prohibited on Aluna without exception, everywhere, regardless of artistic or fictional framing, because it is illegal in the jurisdictions we operate in and the ones our users read from:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and any content that sexualizes, or depicts in a sexual way, real or fictional minors — including text, drawings, and manga. Zero tolerance; reported to the authorities.
• Bestiality, or any sexual content involving animals.
• Non-consensual sexual content, including content depicting rape or sexual assault as gratification, and any real sexual content shared without the consent of those depicted.
• Content that depicts, promotes, facilitates, plans, or incites real-world crimes — terrorism, trafficking of people or drugs, weapons manufacture, credible threats or incitement of violence against real people.
• Content that violates the criminal law of any country where it is created, uploaded from, or made available to readers.

This list is not exhaustive. Aluna may treat anything comparable, or anything it reasonably considers inappropriate or harmful, the same way.

5. Adult (NSFW) content — what is and is not allowed

Adult, explicit, or sexual themes are ALLOWED in written works (prose and serial fiction) for adult readers, as long as the content is lawful and does not fall under Section 4. Written adult works must be marked as adult and are for readers 18 and over.

NSFW manga and other sexually explicit ILLUSTRATED or visual content is NOT allowed on Aluna, at all. This is a content-policy choice on top of the law: even where such material would be lawful, we do not host it.

6. Aluna's right to remove, refuse, and ban

Aluna may, at its sole discretion and with or without notice, refuse, remove, unpublish, delist, hide, or delete any work or any part of it; suspend or terminate any account; and ban any user — for any violation of these terms, for anything unlawful under any applicable law, for anything Aluna reasonably considers inappropriate or harmful, or to protect Aluna, its users, or third parties.

Where a work is removed or an account is closed for a violation, Aluna may also withhold or reverse related payouts and may preserve and disclose information to law enforcement where the law requires it or where Aluna believes in good faith it is necessary.

Removal is not an admission that Aluna reviewed or is responsible for the content; it is Aluna exercising its right to keep the platform lawful and appropriate.

7. Reporting and copyright complaints

If you believe something here is illegal, infringes your rights, or breaks these terms, write to abuse@aluna.ink with a link and a description. For copyright, include enough detail to identify the work and your right in it, and a statement that your complaint is made in good faith. Aluna acts on valid reports and removes what it must.

8. Payments

Where an author lists a work for sale, payment is non-custodial: Aluna takes a 15% platform fee and the author's 85% is paid directly to the author's own wallet. Both charges are shown before purchase and both must clear before access is granted. Aluna does not hold your funds and is not a bank.

9. No warranty

Aluna is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Aluna does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content is accurate, lawful, or suitable.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aluna is not liable for user-generated content or for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service or from any content posted by users. Aluna's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Aluna in the three months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars, whichever is greater.

11. You indemnify Aluna

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Aluna, its owners, and its staff from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of the content you upload, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms or of any law. In other words: if what you post causes a legal problem, that is on you, not on Aluna.

12. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you also remain responsible for obeying the laws that apply to you where you are. We may update these terms; when we do we will change the date at the top and, for material changes, say what moved. Continuing to use Aluna after a change means you accept it.
