Accessibility
Last reviewed 10 October 2026. Everyone should be able to read and write on Aluna, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Every page has one main heading, a "Skip to content" link, and is built from standard HTML that screen readers understand.
- Everything can be done with a keyboard — in your studio, chapters can be reordered with Move up and Move down as well as by dragging — and reading works without JavaScript.
- Form fields have names a screen reader announces, and errors are written out in words, not shown by colour alone.
- Text and controls meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios; we last checked every main page on 9 October 2026.
- Book covers shown next to their title are marked as decorative, so a screen reader reads the title once instead of twice.
- Pages reflow on small screens and when you zoom to 200% or more, without sideways scrolling.
- Chapters are real text, so you can resize them, change the font with your browser, or have them read aloud.
What is not there yet
- Comic and manga pages are images uploaded by their authors and do not have text descriptions yet.
- The PDF you can download with a copy is not a tagged PDF. The EPUB download works better with screen readers and e-reader apps.
- Voice notes in fan-club rooms have no captions or transcript, and video trailers have no captions.
- Books and posts written by our users may not follow these guidelines themselves.
Getting help or another format
If something on Aluna is hard to use with your setup, or you need a book you bought in another format, write to aluna.ink.com@gmail.com and tell us the page and what happened. We answer within five working days and fix what we can; until a fix is live we will help another way.
We test with automated checks and by hand, page by page. This statement is reviewed whenever the site changes in a way that could affect accessibility.
